LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Margaret M. Clark upon the occasion of
her designation as recipient of the 2016 Outstanding Board Member of the
Year Award by Happiness House
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Margaret M. Clark upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2016 Outstanding Board Member of the Year Award by Happiness House
to be celebrated at its 13th Annual Gala Dinner and Auction Event, on
Friday, February 5th, 2016, at Belhurst Castle, Geneva, New York; and
WHEREAS, Given annually, this auspicious award is presented to board
members who go above and beyond their duties as a volunteer, and whose
outstanding contributions and accomplishments are consistent with the
mission and vision of Happiness House; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Pittsford, New York, Margaret "Peggy" M. Clark
retired from her position as Vice President of Government Program
Compliance from Excellus BlueCross BlueShield in December of 2006 after
over 33 years of dedicated service; and
WHEREAS, "Peggy" M. Clark then moved on to serve as the Director of
Planning and Capacity Management at the Finger Lakes Health Systems
Agency for two years; and
WHEREAS, In addition, "Peggy" M. Clark taught at both Monroe Community
College and the State University of New York (SUNY) at Brockport; today,
she is a member of the Monroe Community College Advisory Board for
Health Information Technology, and SUNY Brockport's Advisory Board for
Masters in Public Administration; and
WHEREAS, In January 2015, CP Rochester/United Cerebral Palsy Associ-
ation of the Rochester Area, Inc. and Happiness House/Finger Lakes
United Cerebral Palsy, Inc. formed the parent corporation called Ability
Partners, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, By officially joining forces under this new parent corpo-
ration, the two agencies have developed even greater efficiencies which
benefit thousands of adults and children in the Finger Lakes and Greater
Rochester regions; and
WHEREAS, As a result of the formation of Ability Partners, Inc., the
Happiness House Foundation joined with CP Rochester to create the Abili-
ty Partners Foundation; and
WHEREAS, "Peggy" M. Clark strongly believes in the mission and vision
of Ability Partners, Inc. and Ability Partners Foundation, and feels the
results achieved by the agencies allow children and adults to reach
their full potential and positively impact their lives, their families,
and the community; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout has been her loving husband, Bill, who
feels privileged to be a part of her life and rejoices in her achieve-
ments; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, "Peggy" M. Clark has
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the
respect and admiration of her family, friends, and community at large;
and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which "Peggy" M. Clark has displayed through-
out her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor "Peggy" M. Clark upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2016 Outstanding Board Member of the Year Award by Happiness
House; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Margaret M. Clark.
