LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Marion Field upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Hudson Mohawk Industrial
Gateway

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Marion Field has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Marion Field
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Hudson Mohawk Industrial Gateway; this momentous occasion was celebrated
at its Annual Gala on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at the Troy Italian
Community Center, Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, Marion Field has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, The Little Italy Neighborhood Association was founded by
Marion Field, Michael Esposito and the Rocco DeFazio Family in 2005,
with a goal to establish Troy's Little Italy as an ethnic tourist desti-
nation and to revitalize its historic Hill Street Marketplace site; and
WHEREAS, Little Italy is one of several distinctive neighborhoods in
the South Central section of Troy, New York; it is located just south of
the historic downtown district affording residents all the cultural,
civic, and business amenities of the city; and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous direction of Marion Field, the Little
Italy Neighborhood Association has recruited many volunteers to improve
the once thriving community making it a safe place for people to live,
work and visit; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Marion Field has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Marion Field has displayed through-
out her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Marion Field upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Hudson Mohawk Industrial Gateway; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Marion Field.
