LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kallanna Manjunath, MD upon the occasion
of his designation as recipient of the Dr. Joseph B. Robinson Community
Service Award by the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Center

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Kallanna Manjunath has given not only of his time and
energies but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Kallanna Manjunath, MD upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Dr. Joseph B. Robinson Community Service Award by the Whitney M.
Young, Jr. Health Center celebrated at its Annual Legacy Event on Thurs-
day, October 29, 2015, at the New York State Museum, Albany, New York;
and
WHEREAS, The Dr. Joseph B. Robinson Community Service Award is
bestowed upon an exceptional community leader who is making a difference
in the Capital District; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Kallanna Manjunath attended Bangalore Medical College in
India, and was also educated at Blackburn and Burnley Hospitals in the
United Kingdom; he completed his residency at Albany Medical College,
Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Kallanna Manjunath began his medical career as a staff
Pediatrician at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York, and then went
on to work at Albany Medical Center; he then held the title of Medical
Director at St. Peter's Medical Group Practice; and
WHEREAS, Currently, Dr. Kallanna Manjunath serves as the Chief Medical
Officer for Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Services; and
WHEREAS, When he is not working, Dr. Kallanna Manjunath volunteers his
time and energies with Albany County Foster Care Services and Health
Aid; and
WHEREAS, For his dedicated commitment to serving his community, Dr.
Kallanna Manjunath has been the recipient of numerous awards and acco-
lades including Albany County Foster Parents of the Year, and the No
Time to Lose Award by the New York State Social Services Commissioner;
in addition, he was named Best Doctor from Best Doctor Publication Group
and was inducted into the Capital District Physician Health Plan Physi-
cian Academy; and
WHEREAS, When persons of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to the attention of this Legislative Body it is appropriate to
publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend those individuals for the
edification and emulation of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kallanna Manjunath, MD upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Dr. Joseph B. Robinson Community Service Award by the
Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Center; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kallanna Manjunath, MD.
