LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Ana Oliveira upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Federation of Italian-Ameri-
can Organizations of Brooklyn, Ltd. on April 3, 2016

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Ana Oliveira has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Ana Oliveira
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Federation of Italian-American Organizations of Brooklyn, Ltd., to be
celebrated at its 39th Annual Fund Raising Gala on Sunday, April 3,
2016, at El Caribe Country Club, Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Ana Oliveira has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of Investors Bank,
Ana Oliveira graduated from East Side High School in Newark, New Jersey
before earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Journalism
from New Jersey City University; and
WHEREAS, Prior to joining Investors Bank, Ana Oliveira spent ten years
with Penn Federal Savings Bank which was acquired by Garden State Commu-
nity Bank in 2007, where she served as 1st Vice President and Regional
Manager; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Ana Oliveira has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, An active community leader and volunteer, Ana Oliveira is a
member of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Queens Chamber of Commerce,
and is an active Board Member of the Queens Theatre; and
WHEREAS, In addition, she has served as Board Member of the New Jersey
City University Foundation, the Portuguese American Chamber of Commerce
in New Jersey (PACCNJ), and as the Treasurer of the Portuguese American
Congress (PAC) in New Jersey; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Ana Oliveira has displayed through-
out her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ana Oliveira upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Federation of Italian-American Organizations of
Brooklyn, Ltd. on April 3, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ana Oliveira.
