LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Miriam Trementozzi upon the occasion
of her designation for special recognition by Partners for Albany
Stories

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Miriam Trementozzi has given not only of her time and ener-
gies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and conse-
quently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Miriam
Trementozzi upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition
by Partners for Albany Stories to be celebrated on Monday, February 29,
2016, at the Shaker Heritage Society in Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, Partners for Albany Stories (PASt) is a collaboration among
historical and cultural organizations in the Capital Region with a
mission to explore compelling local stories about Albany's vital role in
the development of New York State and our Nation; and
WHEREAS, Miriam Trementozzi is being honored for her leadership and
dedication as co-Chair of the Heritage Tourism Advisory Council, and for
overseeing the recently drafted City of Albany Heritage Tourism Plan;
and
WHEREAS, Miriam Trementozzi's varied professional background includes
service as Executive Director of Historic Albany Foundation; she also
holds a master's degree in History/Historic Preservation from the
University of Vermont among her many advanced degrees; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed civic leader recently retired from her job as
Associate Vice President for Community Engagement in the President's
Office of the University at Albany; during this time, her efforts were
vital in advancing UAlbany's civic engagement and partnerships in
addressing public needs from the arts and education to economic growth;
and
WHEREAS, For many years, Miriam Trementozzi has been the heart and
soul of the Heritage Tourism Advisory Council, and has worked tirelessly
in such areas as coordinating sites and drafting plans of action; and
WHEREAS, During her illustrious tenure as co-Chair, Miriam Trementozzi
has brought together many diverse partners in the history, cultural,
arts, and historic preservation world while providing invaluable service
to her community; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Miriam Trementozzi has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to excellence, certainly have earned the recogni-
tion and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Miriam Trementozzi upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by Partners for Albany Stories; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Miriam Trementozzi.
