LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Precious Jenemiah Grace King upon the
occasion of her designation as recipient of the Excellence in Leadership
Award by the Flora E. Kippins Foundation, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Precious Jenemiah Grace King upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the Excellence in Leadership Award by the Flora E. Kippins
Foundation, Inc.; this momentous occasion was celebrated at its Second
Annual Fundraising Gala on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at the Desmond,
Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, Precious Jenemiah Grace King is being recognized with this
auspicious honor in recognition of her steadfast dedication to community
service, her unwavering commitment to achieving excellence in education,
and her passion for international relations and culture; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Niskayuna High School, Precious Jenemiah Grace
King is an honor student who participates in student council, varsity
crew, Niskayuna Youth Court and Niskayuna Model United Nations; and
WHEREAS, This exemplary young woman received a certificate of commen-
dation at the 2013 New York State Summer School of Media Arts at the
State University of New York at Oswego, and completed a two-week Leader
in Training program at the YMCA's Camp Chingachgook in the summer of
2014; and
WHEREAS, Precious Jenemiah Grace King was selected by Stanford Univer-
sity to attend their pre-collegiate 2015 summer program; in addition,
she was selected by the United States Department of State to participate
in the highly competitive Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Abroad
program; and
WHEREAS, Subsequently, during her junior year of high school, Precious
Jenemiah Grace King had the experience of a lifetime studying abroad in
Accra, Ghana, where she immersed herself in the native culture by
attending West Africa Senior High School; and
WHEREAS, Active within her community, Precious Jenemiah Grace King
volunteers with the Niskayuna Community Summer Youth program, Niskayuna
Circle, Lake George Land Conservancy, and the Ronald McDonald House
Charities of the Capital Region, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, In the future, Precious Jenemiah Grace King aspires to pursue
a career in International Relations, and to use her knowledge for huma-
nitarian work in the United States and globally; and
WHEREAS, With her sense of civic duty and her commitment to others,
Precious Jenemiah Grace King represents the best development of the
potential which is inherent in our most precious resource, our youth;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Precious Jenemiah Grace King upon the occasion of her designation
as recipient of the Excellence in Leadership Award by the Flora E.
Kippins Foundation, Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Precious Jenemiah Grace King.
