LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Rachel Closs upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the William B. Joslin Outstanding Perform-
ance Award by New York State Industries for the Disabled

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
just tribute to those citizens who embody the true American spirit,
demonstrating personal courage and determination; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Rachel Closs upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
William B. Joslin Outstanding Performance Award by New York State Indus-
tries for the Disabled; and
WHEREAS, The Annual Joslin Awards Program of the New York State Indus-
try for the Disabled (NYSID) respectfully acknowledges individuals in
New York communities who strengthen the Preferred Source Program through
jobs well done; and
WHEREAS, Rachel Closs, 28, is an independent, energetic young lady
with a friendly heart and a kind personality; she happily lives on her
own in Delaware County and possesses several interests and talents,
including reading, writing, cooking holiday meals for her family, and
driving; and
WHEREAS, Consistently demonstrating an outstanding job performance,
Rachel Closs is a valued member of the Resources for Industry clipboard
team, a NYSID Preferred Source contract; through hard work and determi-
nation, she has mastered each step of the job, including assembling
one-way spring clips, setting springs, assembling the clipboards,
providing quality control, and packaging the finished product for ship-
ment; and
WHEREAS, Rachel Closs is extremely focused and ensures quality with
each clipboard she produces; she consistently demonstrates attention to
detail and is a natural mentor and role model to her co-workers, provid-
ing her peers with support and job-step demonstrations as needed; and
WHEREAS, This exemplary young woman has developed various workplace
skills, including an eagerness to learn, dedication to quality work,
self-confidence, determination, and teamwork qualities; she has worked
tremendously hard to succeed and improve her employment skills, and is
thrilled to have prospective job opportunities on the horizon; and
WHEREAS, In the faithful performance of her duties and responsibil-
ities, Rachel Closs' ongoing efforts and notable achievements have
significantly contributed to bettering the quality of life in her commu-
nity; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Rachel Closs enjoys volunteering at church,
Senior Meals and the Meals on Wheels programs; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such enduring courage and accomplishment are brought to our
attention, it is appropriate to publicly proclaim and commend those
individuals for the edification and emulation of others; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Rachel Closs upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the William B. Joslin Outstanding Performance Award by New York State
Industries for the Disabled, and to wish her continued success in all
her future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Rachel Closs.
