LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jamie and Adam Altman upon the occasion
of their designation for special recognition by the Schechter School of
Long Island on March 31, 2016

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Jamie and Adam Altman have given not only of their time and
energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently have been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jamie and Adam
Altman upon the occasion of their designation for special recognition by
the Schechter School of Long Island to be celebrated at its 2016 Gala
held on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at the Old Westbury Hebrew Congre-
gation in Old Westbury, New York; and
WHEREAS, Jamie and Adam Altman have been ardent supporters of the
Schechter School of Long Island (SSLI) for many years, and have distin-
guished themselves in service to both the school and the overall commu-
nity; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed couple are proud SSLI parents, and reside in
Woodbury, New York, with their three children: Finley (Class of 2022),
Shai (Class of 2024), and two-year-old Poppy; and
WHEREAS, Jamie Altman owns and operates N&S Electric Supply, an elec-
tric supply and lighting distribution company, which is located in Hunt-
ington Station; and
WHEREAS, A Jewish day school graduate, Adam Altman is a real estate
investor and entrepreneur, as well as the founding partner of The KABR
Group which focuses on real estate investment; and
WHEREAS, Jamie and Adam Altman have a long-standing history of support
and involvement with Jewish organizations and the broader Jewish commu-
nity, and have always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Adam Altman sits on the Board of NYPEN and is a
member of the SSLI Executive Committee and Board of Directors; he also
serves on the SSLI Real Estate Committee and the Security Task Force,
where he serves as Chair; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Jamie and Adam Altman have stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Jamie and Adam Altman have displayed
throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jamie and Adam Altman upon the occasion of their designation for
special recognition by the Schechter School of Long Island; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jamie and Adam Altman.
