LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Dr. Adeline I-Emihe upon the occasion
of her designation for special recognition by the National Action
Network, West Nassau Chapter, on April 17, 2016
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Adeline I-Emihe has given not only of her time and ener-
gies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and conse-
quently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Dr. Adeline
I-Emihe upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter, to be celebrated at
its 3rd Annual Women's Prestigious Gala Awards Dinner held on Sunday,
April 17, 2016, at the Chateau Briand Caterers in Carle Place, New York;
and
WHEREAS, The National Action Network's Annual Women's Prestigious Gala
Awards Dinner recognizes outstanding individuals who demonstrate excel-
lence in their work, service, and commitment to the Jewish, Nigerian,
Caribbean, Spanish, Haitian and American communities; and
WHEREAS, The West Nassau Chapter, under the able leadership of
District Chairperson, Pastor Emmanuel Asse, continues the mission of NAN
which fulfills a vital role in moving our Nation forward; and
WHEREAS, Adeline I-Emihe has attended Long Island University, Walden
University, Abia State University and the University of Lagos, Nigeria;
her areas of expertise and research interests include Public Adminis-
tration, International Law and Diplomacy, Administrative Law, Constitu-
tional Law, Criminal Justice, Foreign Policy, Rights Advocacy, and
Conflict Resolution; and
WHEREAS, A lawyer with an interest in a variety of fields including
legal/policy analysis, and political science, Dr. Adeline I-Emihe's
career has ranged across both the public and private sectors; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the years, this esteemed woman has ably served in
such positions as a legal consultant/adviser and New York City educator,
as well as in an executive position in the Nigerian oil service industry
and Civil Service; and
WHEREAS, Currently, this esteemed woman is engaged in research within
the area of Cultural Integration in Organizational Partnership with
Statutory and Quasi Implications; this research focuses on local, inter-
national, and global multinational corporations and partnerships; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to improving the lives of others, Dr. Adeline I-Em-
ihe has contributed to such worthy causes as advancing the lives of
women, rural health initiatives, child education and community develop-
ment in both the United States and abroad; and
WHEREAS, As the Founder of Imo Women Congress Worldwide, Dr. Adeline
I-Emihe has pioneered the Imo Women Congress "Health for Life" initi-
ative, which provides health-related resources to communities in need;
and
WHEREAS, Moreover, Dr. Adeline I-Emihe has continually strived to
mediate and advocate for those who are disadvantaged or marginalized,
and has become a catalyst for social change in her immediate and larger
communities both in the United States as well as in the Diaspora; and
WHEREAS, A noted author, Dr. Adeline I-Emihe's writings and contrib-
utions to African literature have been major milestones in uplifting
many sub-Saharan communities which have been devastated by desertifica-
tion, HIV/AIDS, and the refugee crisis; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Adeline I-Emihe is also the African Regional Represen-
tative for the International Women's Writing Guild, and has received
numerous awards and honors for her writings which continue to advance
the lives of others; and
WHEREAS, During the entire period of her community service, a period
of constructive involvement, Dr. Adeline I-Emihe has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Dr. Adeline I-Emihe has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Dr. Adeline I-Emihe upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dr. Adeline I-Emihe.
