LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of Robert J. McNamara, Sr.
distinguished citizen and devoted member of his community
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Robert J. McNamara, Sr. of Tonawanda, New York, died on
February 27, 2016; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Kenmore East High School Class of 1983, Robert
J. McNamara, Sr. was named Male Athlete of the Year in his senior year;
and
WHEREAS, This esteemed man distinguished himself in his profession and
by his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
his community; and
WHEREAS, Robert J. McNamara, Sr.'s commitment to excellence, and his
spirit of humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise, includ-
ing charitable and civic endeavors; and
WHEREAS, Predeceased by his parents, Ann and Francis McNamara; and his
father-in-law, Dr. Leslie Racz, Robert J. McNamara, Sr. is survived by
his beloved wife, Sherrie; their three children, Megan, Robert, Jr. and
Melanie McNamara; two sisters, Theresa (Chad), and Caroline; one broth-
er, Francis (Tabitha); his mother-in-law, Joan; and three brothers-in-
law, Louis (Lisa), Martin (Jeannette) and Cary (Carol); as well as
numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Robert J. McNamara, Sr. leaves behind a legacy which will
long endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory
to all he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Robert J. McNamara, Sr. distinguished citizen and
devoted member of his community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Robert J. McNamara, Sr.
