LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring George Quigley upon the occasion of his
designation as a 2016 SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame
Inductee as Business Person of the Year
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
George Quigley upon the occasion of his designation as a 2016 SUNY New
Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame Inductee as Business Person of the
Year to be celebrated on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at the Grandview in
Poughkeepsie, New York; and
WHEREAS, The SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame was estab-
lished in 2001 to recognize and acknowledge the achievements of those
who have made significant contributions to their respective business
professions, while also having a significant positive impact on the
educational activities of the School; and
WHEREAS, A business leader of singular distinction, George Quigley has
continually demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence
and diligent leadership in his unwavering service to both his community
and profession and consequently, has been selected for this most presti-
gious honor; and
WHEREAS, George Quigley is the CEO and President of Stavo Industries
and ErtelAlsop, an innovator in the manufacturing of depth filter media
and machinery for liquid filtration; and
WHEREAS, An active member of the New Paltz community, George Quigley
has been called upon to contribute his time and talents to countless
civic and charitable endeavors and has always given of himself unstint-
ingly while repeatedly demonstrating his commitment to maintaining the
vitality of the region; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, George Quigley has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which George Quigley has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor George Quigley upon the occasion of his designation as a 2016 SUNY
New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame Inductee as Business Person of
the Year; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to George Quigley.
