LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Micaela Manteo upon the occasion of her
designation as a 2016 SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame
Inductee as Student Leader of the Year

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Micaela Manteo upon the occasion of her designation as a 2016 SUNY New
Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame Inductee as Student Leader of the
Year to be celebrated on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Grandview in
Poughkeepsie, New York; and
WHEREAS, The SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame was estab-
lished in 2001 to recognize and acknowledge the achievements of those
who have made significant contributions to their respective business
professions, while also having a significant positive impact on the
educational activities of the School; and
WHEREAS, A student leader of singular distinction, Micaela Manteo has
continually demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence
and diligent leadership in her unwavering service to both her community
and academics and consequently has been selected for this most presti-
gious honor; and
WHEREAS, An MBA student who recently graduated from SUNY New Paltz
with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Micaela Manteo is deeply
involved in the School of Business as a site coordinator for the VITA
program; she also serves as President of Beta Gamma Sigma, and plans to
take the CPA exam; and
WHEREAS, An active member of the SUNY New Paltz community, Micaela
Manteo has been called upon to contribute her time and talents to count-
less civic and charitable endeavors; she is a member of several clubs
and organizations including the Accounting and Finance Association; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Micaela Manteo has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Micaela Manteo has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Micaela Manteo upon the occasion of her designation as a 2016 SUNY
New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame Inductee as Student Leader of
the Year; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Micaela Manteo.
