LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Amanda Aronoff upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Nassau BOCES Education Partner Award on
April 13, 2016
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Amanda Aronoff upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Nassau BOCES Education Partner Award, to be celebrated on Wednesday,
April 13, 2016, at Crest Hollow Country Club, Woodbury, New York; and
WHEREAS, A vital regional resource, Nassau BOCES offers state-of-the-
art programs for learners of all ages and abilities as well as cost
effective services for school districts and municipalities; and
WHEREAS, The 2016 Nassau BOCES Education Award recipients were chosen
for this prestigious honor by a committee of distinguished education and
community leaders; they identified individuals and organizations who
personified the spirit of educational partnerships and demonstrated
measurable impact on public education in Nassau County; and
WHEREAS, Amanda Aronoff is a senior at John F. Kennedy High School in
the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District; through her diligence
and rigorous efforts, she has been chosen as a 2016 Nassau BOCES Educa-
tion Partner Award honoree; and
WHEREAS, A young woman of singular distinction, Amanda Aronoff has
distinguished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, estab-
lishing a high standard of academic excellence and purposefulness of
life rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Amanda Aronoff in achieving this high honor, may take just
pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excellence
she brings to her family, friends, community and school; and
WHEREAS, Amanda Aronoff stands poised on the threshold of a broad and
challenging world, a testament to the love and nurturing care of her
family, friends and school; and
WHEREAS, With her sense of civic duty and her commitment to others,
Amanda Aronoff represents the best development of the potential which is
inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Amanda Aronoff upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Nassau BOCES Education Partner Award on April 13, 2016; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Amanda Aronoff.
