LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending The Reverend Emmanuel Quarshie upon
the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the National
Action Network, West Nassau Chapter, on April 17, 2016

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Emmanuel Quarshie has given not only of his time and
energies but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend The Reverend
Emmanuel Quarshie upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter, to be
celebrated at its 3rd Annual Women's Prestigious Gala Awards Dinner held
on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at the Chateau Briand Caterers in Carle
Place, New York; and
WHEREAS, The National Action Network's Annual Women's Prestigious Gala
Awards Dinner recognizes outstanding individuals who demonstrate excel-
lence in their work, service, and commitment to the Jewish, Nigerian,
Caribbean, Spanish, Haitian and American communities; and
WHEREAS, The West Nassau Chapter, under the able leadership of
District Chairperson, Pastor Emmanuel Asse, continues the mission of NAN
which fulfills a vital role in moving our Nation forward; and
WHEREAS, Born on June 6, 1953, Emmanuel Quarshie became a Born Again
Christian at the age of 20; after completing high school, he joined the
church choir at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana; and
WHEREAS, A dedicated young man of faith, Emmanuel Quarshie joined a
prayer and missions youth association known as the Power Hour Group
located in Tema, Ghana; three years later, he suspended his plans of
studying to be an engineer, and enrolled in a bible school in Benin
City, Nigeria; and
WHEREAS, Upon completing Bible School, Emmanuel Quarshie began pastor-
ing with the Full Gospel Church International, and later started four
new churches in Ghana; he also helped establish the Full Gospel Bible
School in Ghana, to guide up-and-coming young ministers; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, Reverend Emmanuel Quarshie has continued his
religious education; he holds a first degree in Theology from the school
of Biblical Studies in the United Kingdom and a second degree in Pasto-
ral Theology from the Regent University in the United States; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Reverend Emmanuel Quarshie has enrolled in the
Morris Cerrulo School of Ministry and the School of Church Planting and
Leadership in Manaus, Brazil; and
WHEREAS, During his time in Ghana, Reverend Emmanuel Quarshie served
as an administrator and lecturer with Youth with a Mission, and helped
establish the School of Biblical Studies and the School of Church Plant-
ing and Leadership; he has also helped raise disciples and train bibli-
cal scholars; and
WHEREAS, Since emigrating from Ghana to the United States, Reverend
Emmanuel Quarshie has ably pastored in the Gospel Outreach Ministry in
Yonkers, New York, and taught at the Living Faith Bible School; he has
also established a church in Hackensack, New Jersey, for the Gospel
Outreach Ministry; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, and five children,
all of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his
achievements; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Reverend Emmanuel Quarshie has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Reverend Emmanuel Quarshie has
displayed throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend The Reverend Emmanuel Quarshie upon the occasion of his desig-
nation for special recognition by the National Action Network, West
Nassau Chapter; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to The Reverend Emmanuel Quarshie.
