LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Dr. Ada Nwozuzu upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by the National Action Network,
West Nassau Chapter, on April 17, 2016

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Ada Nwozuzu has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Dr. Ada
Nwozuzu upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter, to be celebrated at
its 3rd Annual Women's Prestigious Gala Awards Dinner held on Sunday,
April 17, 2016, at Chateau Briand Caterers in Carle Place, New York; and
WHEREAS, The National Action Network's Annual Women's Prestigious Gala
Awards Dinner recognizes outstanding individuals who demonstrate excel-
lence in their work, service and commitment to the Jewish, Nigerian,
Caribbean, Spanish, Haitian and American communities; and
WHEREAS, The West Nassau Chapter, under the able leadership of
District Chairperson, Pastor Emmanuel Asse, continues the mission of NAN
which fulfills a vital role in moving our Nation forward; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Ada Nwozuzu was born on April 16, 1982, to Nigerian
natives, Doctor Emmanuel and Cordelia Nwozuzu in Ames, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, Prior to graduating from St. John's University in New York
City with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Dr. Ada Nwozuzu want-
ed to make an impact on people's lives as a health care provider; she
realized that the health of many of her parents' relatives was the key
factor in determining their fates in Nigeria; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Ada Nwozuzu's early healthcare roles and career path
included working as a Pharmacy Technician for Unity Healthcare, an HMO
contracted with the Department of Corrections in Washington, D.C.,
providing healthcare for the incarcerated population and, later at New
York-Presbyterian Hospital assisting pharmacists with compounding medi-
cations; and
WHEREAS, In January of 2011, still longing to fulfill her purpose, Dr.
Ada Nwozuzu enrolled at Spartan Health Sciences University in Vieux
Fort, St. Lucia, in the Caribbean; her main priority since becoming a
Doctor has always been patient advocacy and providing patient care; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Ada Nwozuzu has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Dr. Ada Nwozuzu has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Dr. Ada Nwozuzu has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Dr. Ada Nwozuzu upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dr. Ada Nwozuzu.
