LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Abby and David Bienenfeld upon the
occasion of their designation as recipients of the Young Leadership
Award by Young Israel of Plainview on April 3, 2016
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals and organizations of remarkable integ-
rity and character who distinguish themselves in service to their faith
and community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Abby and David Bienenfeld upon the occasion of their designation as
recipients of the Young Leadership Award by Young Israel of Plainview to
be celebrated at its 44th Annual Testimonial Dinner on Sunday, April 3,
2016, at the Jericho Jewish Center, Jericho, New York; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Yeshiva University and New York University
Stern Business School, David Bienenfeld is currently employed at London
Luxury, a market leader in home textiles; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to the well-being and success of his Shul, David
Bienenfeld has been a member of several committees including The Young
Israel of Plainview's Youth Committee, Shaleshudis Committee, and Educa-
tion Committee; in addition, he is a participant of the Shul Board of
Directors; and
WHEREAS, Abby Bienenfeld is a graduate of both Stern College for Women
and Stonybrook School of Medicine; today, she is a doctor at Winthrop
University Hospital; and
WHEREAS, Happy to be of service to her Shul, Abby Bienenfeld enjoys
participating on The Young Israel of Plainview's Youth Committee and the
Shul Expansion Committee; and
WHEREAS, Together, David and Abby Bienenfeld have enthusiastically
served as The Young Israel of Plainview's Youth Directors for many
years; and
WHEREAS, Abby and David Bienenfeld are the proud parents of five chil-
dren, Meir, Keren, Aliza, Gavriel and Elisha; all of whom feel privi-
leged to be a part of their lives and rejoice in their achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Abby and David Bienenfeld have displayed
throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Abby and David Bienenfeld upon the occasion of their designation
as recipients of the Young Leadership Award by Young Israel of Plainview
on April 3, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Abby and David Bienenfeld.
