LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Terry L. Buckley upon the occasion of
his retirement as Supervisor of the Town of Champion

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Terry L. Buckley upon the occasion of his retirement as Supervisor for
the Town of Champion; and
WHEREAS, For the past three decades, Terry L. Buckley has served his
community in multiple leadership positions; and
WHEREAS, As Supervisor of the Town of Champion, Terry L. Buckley
improved the quality of life for town residents through his work improv-
ing infrastructure and nurturing economic growth; and
WHEREAS, Terry L. Buckley has been involved in a number of significant
community projects including the completion of the Route 3 sewer system,
obtaining of new town offices, and creating the River Area Council of
Government (RACOG); and
WHEREAS, While establishing RACOG, Terry L. Buckley was instrumental
in fostering the collaborative relationship with the Towns of Champion
and Wilna, and the Villages of Carthage and West Carthage; and
WHEREAS, Terry L. Buckley has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors such as serving
on the Carthage Industrial Development Corporation Board and the RACOG
board; and
WHEREAS, In his capacity as Town Supervisor, Terry L. Buckley served
with loyalty, honor and distinction, and was governed by a keen sense of
duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, Terry L. Buckley, who has great leadership qualities and a
caring personality, truly earned the admiration, esteem and affection of
his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Through his commitment to serving and improving his communi-
ty, Terry L. Buckley has made invaluable contributions to the residents
of the Town of Champion; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Terry L. Buckley upon the occasion of his retirement as Supervisor
of the Town of Champion; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Terry L. Buckley.
