LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 90th Anniversary of the Hunt-
ington Township Chamber of Commerce on March 26, 2015
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those organizations which substantially contribute to
the economic vitality of their communities and the entire Empire State;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 90th Anniversary of the Huntington Township Chamber of
Commerce, to be celebrated at its Anniversary Gala on Thursday, March
26, 2015, at Crestwood Manor, Fort Salonga, New York; and
WHEREAS, Incorporated in 1925 as a Chamber of Commerce in the Village
of Huntington, the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce represents
the interests of business, industry, financial service, not-for-profit
and other professionals within the greater Huntington area; and
WHEREAS, Staying true to its mission, the Huntington Township Chamber
of Commerce promotes business, economic development and job creation
through the coordinated efforts of its members; and
WHEREAS, The Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to
serving the needs of its members through government advocacy, network-
ing, community development and education; and
WHEREAS, In fulfillment of its service and community goals, the Hunt-
ington Township Chamber of Commerce develops public policy positions,
provides networking opportunities to create a stronger business environ-
ment, collects and analyzes data for dissemination of vital information,
and promotes economic development, job growth, education, and an
enhanced quality of life for all residents of Long Island; and
WHEREAS, For the past nine decades, this esteemed organization has
served to encourage and support new businesses and professional opportu-
nities, facilitate new partnerships, and promote the growth of current
businesses in the community; and
WHEREAS, The Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce has a long histo-
ry of success, with many milestones achieved through the dedication and
commitment of its officers, board of directors, and membership; and
WHEREAS, A solid cornerstone of its region, the Huntington Township
Chamber of Commerce will continue to serve as the leading resource
sought by the public for information about tourism, local events, and
business education for many years to come; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional organization and its contributions to the local
and State economies, fully confident it will continue to enjoy the spar-
kling success it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 90th Anniversary of the Huntington Township Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce.
