LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Beth and Nathan Fruchter upon the
occasion of their designation as the Guests of Honor at the 34th Annual
Dinner of Young Israel of Lawrence-Cedarhurst on February 28, 2015

WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in the Empire State are
greatly enriched by the faithful and generous service of those who
devote themselves to endeavors of family, faith and community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend individuals of such magnanimous conduct and bearing who demon-
strate a deep and continuing concern for others, and in so doing,
inspire others to do the same; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Beth and Nathan Fruchter upon the occasion of their designation as the
Guests of Honor at the 34th Annual Dinner of Young Israel of Lawrence-
Cedarhurst on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Congregation Beth Sholom;
and
WHEREAS, Nathan Fruchter grew up in Antwerp, Belgium, where he
attended Yesode Hatora High School; he received his Bachelor's degree in
Economics and Political Science from Yeshiva University; and
WHEREAS, Upon graduation, Nathan Fruchter began his illustrious career
as a trader where he specializes in the recycling industry, trading
scrap metal and other recyclable raw materials around the world; and
WHEREAS, Beth Fruchter grew up in Flatbush, New York, and is a gradu-
ate of Yeshivah of Flatbush, Yeshiva University High School for Girls,
and Stern College; and
WHEREAS, Since their arrival from London, England in 1999 with their
5-year-old twins Yakira and Michael, Beth and Nathan Fruchter have been
an integral part of the Shul of Young Israel of Lawrence-Cedarhurst
(YILC) in Cedarhurst, New York; and
WHEREAS, Shortly after moving to the United States, Nathan Fruchter
joined the Shul's catering committee and was instrumental in the devel-
opment of the Shul's Amazing Race; at the behest of one of the YILC
Presidents, he served as a Gabbai in the Main Shul minyan, and was
promoted to Chairman of the Ritual Committee; and
WHEREAS, Beth Fruchter has been involved in the YILC Sisterhood, serv-
ing on numerous committees including Hospitality, Thanksgiving Bake
Sale, Blood Drive, and Mishloach Manot; and
WHEREAS, Beth Fruchter has served as YILC Sisterhood President, and
has Chaired the Sisterhood Supperette; in addition, this exemplary
couple has served on the committee for the YILC Annual Dinner; and
WHEREAS, During the school year, Beth Fruchter serves as a substitute
teacher for local preschools, and in the summer, she works in the Camp
Morasha Infirmary, where she has tended and looked after many of the
Shul's children; and
WHEREAS, Beth Fruchter has given of her time and energies to countless
community organizations; she has been a volunteer with the I-Shine
program since its inception, and has served as an active member of the
SKA parent council; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the course of their service to Young Israel of
Lawrence-Cedarhurst, Beth and Nathan Fruchter have exhibited exceptional
valor and wisdom; their involvement and leadership have been character-
ized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncom-
promising standard of excellence in all their endeavors on behalf of the
synagogue; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to extend its highest commen-
dation to Beth and Nathan Fruchter for their dedication and commitment
to their community and their heritage; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Beth and Nathan Fruchter upon the occasion of their designation as
the Guests of Honor at the 34th Annual Dinner of Young Israel of
Lawrence-Cedarhurst on February 28, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Beth and Nathan Fruchter.
