LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Irene Nickolai upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT
honoring the 2015 Professional Women and Women in Business

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Irene Nickolai has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Irene Nicko-
lai upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring the 2015 Professional Women and Women
in Business; and
WHEREAS, A licensed Real Estate Broker, Irene Nickolai was employed by
the Douglass Elliman Real Estate Company prior to opening Callicoon
Trading, which offers vintage accessories, handmade jewelry, antiques,
beads and bead making supplies, unique gifts, and much more to shoppers;
and
WHEREAS, As owner and operator of Callicoon Trading, Irene Nickolai
likes to artistically display the local products in her shop, and enjoys
helping children create handcrafted jewelry with stones and beads from
the store; and
WHEREAS, She also takes great pleasure in meeting local residents and
visitors, as well as the artists, artisans and farmers who sell their
wares at her trading post; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to the community in which she lives and works,
Irene Nickolai holds the position of President of the Callicoon Business
Association; and
WHEREAS, When she is not working at Callicoon Trading, Irene Nickolai
takes great pleasure in walking her dog by the river, reading a good
book, and designing jewelry with semi-precious stones and beads; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Irene Nickolai has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Irene Nickolai upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring the 2015 Profes-
sional Women and Women in Business; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Irene Nickolai.
