LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Michele Brockner upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT
honoring the 2015 Professional Women and Women in Business
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Michele Brockner has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Michele
Brockner upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring the 2015 Professional Women and
Women in Business; and
WHEREAS, Michele Brockner earned her bachelor's degree from the State
University of New York (SUNY) at Oneonta, and her master's degree from
Binghamton University; and
WHEREAS, Michele Brockner holds several certifications including
National Board Certification, middle childhood generalist; New York
State Teaching Certification, Elementary Pre-K-6, and Special Education;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout her illustrious 20 year teaching career, Michele
Brockner has taught third, fifth and sixth grade students; today, she
holds the position of fourth grade teacher; and
WHEREAS, In this capacity, Michele Brockner loves inspiring gener-
ations of young people in their educational journeys and ensuring their
success in their future years; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to her profession, Michele Brockner serves as Pres-
ident of the Western Sullivan United Teachers and School Related Profes-
sionals Union; in addition, she is a member of the New York State United
Teachers (NYSUT) and American Federation of Teachers; and
WHEREAS, In the future, Michele Brockner would like to serve as a
Labor Relations Specialist with NYSUT; and
WHEREAS, When she is not teaching, Michele Brockner enjoys playing
soccer, riding snowmobiles and swimming with her family; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Gary, and her two
daughters, Megan and Caitlin, all of whom feel privileged to be a part
of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Michele Brockner has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Michele Brockner upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring the 2015
Professional Women and Women in Business; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Michele Brockner.
