LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Cathy Bender upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT
honoring the 2015 Professional Women and Women in Business
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Cathy Bender has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Cathy Bender
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring the 2015 Professional Women and Women
in Business; and
WHEREAS, A 1988 graduate of Tri-Valley High School, Cathy Bender
earned her Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics from Cornell
University; and
WHEREAS, Since May of 1994, Cathy Bender has served as a Certified
Financial Planner/Practitioner and Chief Compliance Officer at Coombe,
Bender & Co. LLC, and Coombe Financial Services; in this capacity, she
works with clients to organize their assets toward a meaningful goal of
retirement and other plans; and assists them with transitions in life,
death, and end-of-life arrangements; and
WHEREAS, In this role, Cathy Bender enjoys getting to know her clients
and helping them to manage their finances so they can achieve their
dreams; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to the community in which she lives and works,
Cathy Bender holds the position of President of the Neversink Agricul-
tural Society, and participates on the Mid-Hudson Cooperative Insurance
Company Board of Directors; she has also served as President of the
Grahamsville Fair Board of Directors for the past 20 years; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Cathy Bender serves as Treasurer of numerous
funds including small church funds, scholarship funds, and the FFA Alum-
ni Fund; and
WHEREAS, A faithful member of the Grahamsville Reformed Church, Cathy
Bender is the co-Superintendent of Sunday School; and
WHEREAS, When she is not working or volunteering her time and energy
to worthy causes, Cathy Bender likes to spend time with her family and
toil in the garden or do chores on the family farm; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Tim, and her three
children, Nathaniel, Autumn, and Nicholas, all of whom feel privileged
to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Cathy Bender has displayed through-
out her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Cathy Bender upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring the 2015 Profes-
sional Women and Women in Business; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Cathy Bender.
