LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Nancy Kosloski upon the occasion of
her retirement after 37 years of distinguished service as Executive
Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Nancy Kosloski upon the occasion of her retirement after 37 years of
distinguished service as Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters
of Orange County; and
WHEREAS, For the past 37 years, Nancy Kosloski has served the children
of her community with loyalty, honor and distinction as Executive Direc-
tor of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County; and
WHEREAS, Nancy Kosloski's professional journey in the non-profit field
began while working with youth and families facing the challenges of
substance abuse; this experience helped her understand the value of
positive influences for young people; and
WHEREAS, A dedicated advocate for youth development, Nancy Kosloski
joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County to help local adoles-
cents gain the knowledge and life skills which will help them make the
best decisions for their future; and
WHEREAS, During her accomplished tenure, Executive Director Nancy
Kosloski served as an outstanding leader, mentor and an advocate for Big
Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this esteemed non-profit leader helped local
business men and women mentor area youth by forging business partner-
ships with numerous firms, including Hometown Bank of the Hudson Valley,
Hudson Valley Federal Credit, Hudson Bank, and Walden Savings; and
WHEREAS, A Big Sister herself, Nancy Kosloski, has mentored several
young women over the years, and has remained a source of caring support
as they have matured into adults; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Executive Director Nancy Kosloski was
governed by a keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of
human problems; she has earned the admiration, esteem and affection of
her colleagues and the entire Orange County community; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Peter, and their
two sons, Matthew and Michael, all of whom feel privileged to be a part
of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Nancy Kosloski upon the occasion of her retirement after 37
years of distinguished service as Executive Director of Big Brothers Big
Sisters of Orange County, and to wish her all the best in her future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Nancy Kosloski.
