LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring James Adam Guara upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT
2016 Men at Work Edition

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, James Adam Guara has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor James Adam
Guara upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by
the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT 2016 Men at Work Edition; and
WHEREAS, A native of Cheyenne, Wyoming, James Adam Guara graduated
from Cheyenne Central High School and attended the University of Wyom-
ing, Laramie County Community College, and Sullivan County Community
College; and
WHEREAS, As Assistant Recreation Director for the Town of Liberty
Parks and Recreation Department, James Adam Guara coordinates leisure
and athletic activities which promote good health and positive community
values; and
WHEREAS, Since joining the department one year ago, James Adam Guara's
tireless efforts have included coaching, teaching, and mentoring young
people in the Liberty Warriors football and cheerleading programs, as
well as in basketball and wrestling; and
WHEREAS, In addition, James Adam Guara has been a vital part of numer-
ous academic and skill building programs for youth, including Kids in
our Kitchen, Kids Rock Geology, Mad Science Club and Outdoor Explorers;
he also helped the Halloween Parade and Easter Egg Hunt, and serves as
Director of the Hanofee Day Camp; and
WHEREAS, James Adam Guara has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; he has been involved with the Liberty
Fire Department and the Liberty Volunteer Ambulance Corps, as well as
the Soap Box Derby; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, James Adam Guara is an active coach and board
member for the Cal Ripken Youth Baseball League Liberty Chapter, and is
involved in the Wellness Committee for the Liberty Central School
District; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his stepdaughter, Paige Lynn,
and son, Londyn Shai, both of whom feel privileged to be a part of his
life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, James Adam Guara has
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor James Adam Guara upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT 2016 Men at Work Edition;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to James Adam Guara.
