LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Detective Kevin Quinlivan upon the
occasion of his induction into the 2016 Albany Police Athletic League
Hall of Fame

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Detective
Kevin Quinlivan upon the occasion of his induction into the 2016 Albany
Police Athletic League Hall of Fame celebrated at its Breakfast of Cham-
pions event held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at the Albany Marriott,
Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, A proud Albany native, Kevin Quinlivan attended Holy Cross
Roman Catholic School, where as a 5th grader, he participated in his
first Police Athletic League (PAL) Field Day at Bleecker Stadium in
1989; soon after, he realized at an early age that he wanted to be a
Police Officer; and
WHEREAS, After graduating from Christian Brothers Academy, Kevin Quin-
livan earned his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Siena
College and began volunteering with the Albany PAL; and
WHEREAS, In July of 2000, Kevin Quinlivan fulfilled his lifelong dream
and was sworn in as a member of the Albany Police Department; he ably
served and protected the people of his community, and subsequently, made
Detective six years later; and
WHEREAS, Detective Kevin Quinlivan completed his Master's in Public
Administration from Marist College in 2006, and wrote his thesis based
on his time with the Albany PAL; and
WHEREAS, In 2011, this esteemed law enforcement officer joined the
Board of Directors of Albany PAL, and currently serves as the 2nd Vice-
Chairman of the Board and Chair of the Program Committee; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his many responsibilities with the Albany PAL,
Detective Kevin Quinlivan has further helped the young people of his
community through his passionate involvement with the Albany Pop Warner
Football Program; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Amy, and their two
children, Kellen and Allie, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of
his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Detective Kevin Quinlivan upon the occasion of his induction
into the 2016 Albany Police Athletic League Hall of Fame; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Detective Kevin Quinlivan.
