LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Warren Schreiber upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the Queens Civic Congress,
Inc. on April 17, 2016

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Warren Schreiber has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Warren
Schreiber upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition
by the Queens Civic Congress, Inc., to be celebrated at its Biennial
Civic Luncheon on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Antun's Caterers in Queens
Village, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious event brings together over 200 civic leaders
representing all of Queens, New York, as well as notable federal, state
and city officials; and
WHEREAS, The Queens Civic Congress, Inc. is proud to recognize Warren
Schreiber for his substantial role as a community leader; he has contin-
uously cast a positive impact on his community and displayed an unbri-
dled enthusiasm in all his civic endeavors; and
WHEREAS, For 30 years, Warren Schreiber diligently worked for the New
York City Transit Authority in several divisions such as Subway System
Safety, Government Affairs and Consumer Relations; and
WHEREAS, Warren Schreiber has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, A valued and involved member of his community, Warren
Schreiber was a vital member of Community Board 7 where he held various
leadership positions including Vice Chair, Aviation Chair and Transit
Chair; in addition, he served as the Representative for the New York
Community Aviation Roundtable; and
WHEREAS, This dedicated public servant also founded and held the title
of President of the Friends of Fort Totten Parks; and
WHEREAS, Currently, this remarkable man holds several leadership posi-
tions of numerous organizations including Vice President of the Queens
Civic Congress, 10th year as President of the Bay Terrace Community
Alliance, 15th year as President of Bay Terrace Cooperative Section I,
and co-President of the Cooperatives and Condominium Council, an advoca-
cy group representing 70 properties in Queens with a population of
approximately 100,000 individuals; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Warren Schreiber has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Warren Schreiber has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Warren Schreiber upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the Queens Civic Congress, Inc. on April 17,
2016; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Warren Schreiber.
