LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Shorefront Toys for Tots, Inc.
upon the occasion of hosting its Annual Pre-Mother's Day Brunch on April
16, 2016, and paying tribute to this year's Surrogate Mothers

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Shorefront Toys for Tots, Inc. upon the occasion of hosting its
Annual Pre-Mother's Day Brunch at Sirico's Caterers, Brooklyn, New York,
on Saturday, April 16, 2016, and paying tribute to this year's Surrogate
Mothers; and
WHEREAS, A tradition since 2003, this auspicious event honors six of
the area's finest Surrogate Mothers who have touched and helped improve
the lives of thousands of children throughout Southern Brooklyn's water-
front community of Shorefront; in addition, monetary donations and
presents will be collected for this worthy organization; and
WHEREAS, In 1995, Brian L. Gotlieb founded Shorefront Toys for Tots,
Inc. in honor of his late mother, Myrna Helene Gotlieb, who passed away
in 1993, at the young age of 52; a kind-hearted woman, Myrna taught her
son the importance of giving back and being active within his community;
and
WHEREAS, For over two decades, Shorefront Toys for Tots, Inc. has
generously distributed Chanukah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa gifts to under-
privileged children during the holiday season; and
WHEREAS, The success of Shorefront Toys for Tots, Inc. is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its Founder and President, Brian L.
Gotlieb, and his devoted staff, whose involvement is, and always has
been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm
and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf
of the institution and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body that when indi-
viduals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Shorefront Toys for Tots upon the occasion of hosting its
Annual Pre-Mother's Day Brunch on April 16, 2016, and paying tribute to
this year's Surrogate Mothers; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Brian L. Gotlieb, Founder and President, Shorefront Toys for
Tots, Inc.
