LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Anthony and Tara Simeone upon the occa-
sion of their designation as recipients of the 2016 Partners in Mercy
Award by Mercy Home for Children

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire State with
their strong contributions to the community and model citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Anthony and Tara Simeone have given not only of their time
and energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership
and consequently have been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Anthony and Tara Simeone upon the occasion of their designation as
recipients of the 2016 Partners in Mercy Award by Mercy Home for Chil-
dren to be celebrated at its Annual Partners in Mercy Luncheon on
Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Russo's on the Bay, Howard Beach, New York;
and
WHEREAS, Mercy Home for Children, located in Brooklyn, New York, was
founded in 1862, by the Sisters of Mercy, and is a non-profit social
service agency specializing in residential and supportive programs for
persons with developmental disabilities; and
WHEREAS, Remaining true to its mission, Mercy Home for Children
assures the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabili-
ties through the recognition of each person's inherent dignity and abso-
lute right to a life filled with learning and love; and
WHEREAS, Anthony and Tara Simeone are being presented with this illus-
trious award in recognition of their outstanding commitment, generosity
and dedication to the mission of Mercy Home for Children; and
WHEREAS, Anthony Simeone began his employment at Ridgewood Savings
Bank in July of 2002 as Assistant Vice President and Commercial Lending
Officer; in January of 2005, he became the Managing Officer of Commer-
cial Real Estate and was promoted to Vice President in 2006; and
WHEREAS, In January of 2009, Anthony Simeone was promoted to Senior
Vice President and Chief Lending Officer, and subsequently, promoted to
his current position of Executive Vice President on January 1, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Anthony Simeone has worked in the Banking Industry for over
25 years holding various positions; prior to working at Ridgewood
Savings Bank, he worked at institutions such as Richmond County Savings
Bank, New York Community Bank, and Astoria Federal Savings Bank; and
WHEREAS, Tara Simeone has worked in the Financial Services Industry
for over 18 years; she presently owns her own company, TLS Settlement
Corp., a full service Residential Real Estate settlement firm; and
WHEREAS, Anthony Simeone currently serves as a Director on the board
at the Mercy Home for Children; he enjoys playing baseball and coaching
soccer and baseball with his children; and
WHEREAS, Additionally, Anthony and Tara Simeone volunteer their time
with several animal shelters on Long Island - Forgotten Friends of Long
Island and the League for Animal Protection of Huntington; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Anthony and Tara Simeone upon the occasion of their designation as
recipients of the 2016 Partners in Mercy Award by Mercy Home for Chil-
dren; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Anthony and Tara Simeone.
