LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Naim Thomas upon the occasion of
being named the 2015-2016 Men's Basketball Player of the Year by the
National Junior College Athletic Association Region XV

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
outstanding athletes who have distinguished themselves through their
exceptional performance, attaining unprecedented success and the highest
level of personal achievement; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Naim Thomas upon the occasion of being named the 2015-2016 Men's
Basketball Player of the Year by the National Junior College Athletic
Association Region XV; he was also named to the National Junior College
Athletic Association Region XV Men's 1st Team; and
WHEREAS, NJCAA was first conceived in 1937 when a group of junior
college representatives met to organize an association which would
promote and supervise a national program of junior college sports and
activities consistent with the educational objectives of junior
colleges; and
WHEREAS, The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA),
founded in 1938, is an association of community college and junior
college athletic departments throughout the United States; and
WHEREAS, Naim Thomas is a student at SUNY Sullivan; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Naim Thomas; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved to honor Naim Thomas for his
extraordinary athletic accomplishments which are a tribute to his skill,
dedication and commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations with
praise and pride to congratulate Naim Thomas upon the occasion of being
named the 2015-2016 Men's Basketball Player of the Year by the National
Junior College Athletic Association Region XV; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Naim Thomas.
