LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Marco Dante Amendola upon the
occasion of receiving the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout, the most
prestigious of Scouting honors

WHEREAS, Marco Dante Amendola, through his diligence and rigorous
efforts, has achieved Scouting's highest and most prestigious rank,
Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, Marco Dante Amendola is a member of Boy Scouts of America
Troop 97, New City, New York; in addition to attaining the esteemed rank
of Eagle Scout, he was the recipient of the Ad Altari Dei and Pope Pius
XII Religious Emblems Award, the highest religious award that a Catholic
Scout can achieve; and
WHEREAS, A born leader, Marco Dante Amendola held the position of
Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 97, and serves as the current Junior
Assistant Scoutmaster; and
WHEREAS, A resident of New City, New York, Marco Dante Amendola
attended Strawtown Elementary School and Felix Festa Middle School;
today, he is a junior at Clarkstown South High School; and
WHEREAS, A young man of many interests, Marco Dante Amendola is an
accomplished percussionist, a certified scuba diver, an award winning
artist and a published cartoonist; and
WHEREAS, A true role model, Marco Dante Amendola serves on a Student
Advisory Council, where he has been a consistently positive voice for
young students interested in the legislative process; and
WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and
WHEREAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and
WHEREAS, The Boy Scouts of America and its members are dedicated to
the development of character and leadership in the youth of this Nation;
and
WHEREAS, The highest achievement of leadership in Scouting, earned by
only five percent of all Boy Scouts, is the distinguished rank of Eagle
Scout; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young man has been involved in Scouting for
many years, has lived up to Scouting's ideals and has attained all of
the necessary achievements, including completion of a community service
project, which was successfully planned, developed and executed; and
WHEREAS, For his project, Marco Dante Amendola restored the Camp
Shanks Museum in Orangeburg, New York; he worked with local veterans
from World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War to design,
create and install a new museum sign; researched and made a World War II
era vintage directional sign; patched and re-plastered the exterior of
the museum; scraped and repainted the exterior of the museum; rede-
signed, re-bricked and illuminated the flag pole area; patched and
painted the museum ceiling and landscaped the entire museum grounds; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Marco Dante Amendola honored the veterans of
Rockland County with a dedication ceremony; and
WHEREAS, Marco Dante Amendola's perseverance in rising through the
ranks to Eagle Scout is a strong indication of his ability to master
difficult tasks; his accomplishment will enable him to emerge as a lead-
er, fully equipped to meet the challenges of today's complex society;
and
WHEREAS, This new Eagle Scout is a credit to his family, his school,
his community, his State and his Nation, and no doubt his future will be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor Marco Dante Amendola on achieving the rank of
Eagle Scout; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Marco Dante Amendola.
