LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Charles and Helen Crisafulli upon the
occasion of their designation as recipients of the Hope For Tomorrow
Award by St. Catherine's Center for Children on April 7, 2016

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Charles and Helen Crisafulli have given not only of their
time and energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leader-
ship and consequently have been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Charles and
Helen Crisafulli upon the occasion of their designation as recipients of
the Hope For Tomorrow Award by St. Catherine's Center for Children cele-
brated at its Gala on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at the University Club of
Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, Charles and Helen Crisafulli are receiving this auspicious
award for their sustained and significant contributions to the St.
Catherine's Center for Children for over 10 years; and
WHEREAS, Charles Crisafulli held the title of President of the local
family-operated business, Crisafulli Bros., which was established by his
father, Carmello, in 1939; for 75 years, this vital business has
provided plumbing, heating and air conditioning design, installation,
service and scheduled maintenance to its residential and commercial
clientele; and
WHEREAS, Charles and Helen Crisafulli have been called upon to
contribute their time and talents to countless civic and charitable
endeavors and have always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Married for almost 64 years, Charles and Helen Crisafulli are
true philanthropists, having made numerous charitable contributions
throughout the Capital Region, including St. Catherine's Center for
Children; and
WHEREAS, Through Charles Crisafulli's generosity, St. Catherine's
Center for Children initiated the Mrs. Doubtfire Night-Time Reading
Program; recently, this remarkable couple made a substantial monetary
contribution that will have a significant impact on future efforts to
expand programs in fulfillment of the Center's mission of providing a
comprehensive range of human services designed to offer hope, foster
growth, and improve the lives of the children and families it serves;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Charles and Helen Crisafulli have
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Charles and Helen Crisafulli have
displayed throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Charles and Helen Crisafulli upon the occasion of their desig-
nation as recipients of the Hope For Tomorrow Award by St. Catherine's
Center for Children on April 7, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Charles and Helen Crisafulli.
