LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring The Albany Citizens' Police Review Board
upon the occasion of its designation as the recipient of the Community
Partnership Award by St. Anne Institute on April 15, 2016

WHEREAS, The quality of life in New York State is largely reflective of
the commitment and dedication demonstrated by members of the agencies
which serve to protect, preserve and maintain public order; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens who devote their life's work and
purpose to public service, contributing to the care and welfare of the
citizens of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor The
Albany Citizens' Police Review Board upon the occasion of its desig-
nation as the recipient of the Community Partnership Award by St. Anne
Institute, to be celebrated at its Gala on Friday, April 15, 2016, at
Normanside Country Club, Delmar, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award is bestowed upon The Albany Citizens'
Police Review Board in gratitude for their work in fostering positive
communication between the community-at-large and the Albany Police
Department; and
WHEREAS, The Albany Citizens' Police Review Board is an independent
body created in 2000 to bring the community and the Albany Police
Department closer together by improving communication; this vital Board
serves as an important link between the Albany Police Department and the
citizens of Albany, its businesses and its human service agencies such
as St. Anne Institute, which is served by the Albany Police Department;
and
WHEREAS, The tradition of altruistic public service, heroism and lead-
ership embodied by the Albany Police Department is of such magnitude as
to be worthy of special, statewide recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor The Albany Citizens' Police Review Board upon the occasion of its
designation as the recipient of the Community Partnership Award by St.
Anne Institute on April 15, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to The Albany Citizens' Police Review Board.
