LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of Walter Leon Clark, family
man, distinguished citizen and devoted member of his community
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the memory of
cherished citizens of the State of New York whose talent, wit, charm,
intellect and unique personality permeated all they did; and
WHEREAS, Walter Leon Clark of Brooklyn, New York, died on Saturday,
March 12, 2016, at the age of 53; and
WHEREAS, Walter Leon Clark, affectionately known as Froshenburg, was
the fourth child born to Leon and Gladys Neville Clark on January 6,
1963, in Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Educated in the New York City School system, Walter Leon
Clark was well-known by his classmates, teachers and neighbors for his
creativity and fun-loving spirit; and
WHEREAS, Walter Leon Clark distinguished himself in his profession and
by his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
his community; and
WHEREAS, For six years, Walter Leon Clark proudly served his country
as a member of the United States Army; in 1990, he was discharged with
the rank of Staff Sergeant; and
WHEREAS, After his discharge, Walter Leon Clark was employed in numer-
ous positions; he took great pride in his work and was always committed
to doing a great job; and
WHEREAS, Passionate about the arts, Walter Leon Clark designed
t-shirts for his sister's business, and decorated his home's walls with
his incredible artwork; as a young man, he acted in several roles in
Off-Broadway productions; and
WHEREAS, Well-liked by many for his kind heart and outgoing personal-
ity, Walter Leon Clark will be remembered for his amazing gift for
story-telling, his ingenious practical jokes and for his unwavering love
for his family; and
WHEREAS, Predeceased by his father, Leon, Walter Leon Clark is
survived by his beloved mother, Gladys (Edward); his four devoted
sisters, Joyce (Kevin), Glinda, Gloria and Evelyn; and his treasured
nieces and nephews, Naomi, Whitney, Jordan and Matthew; as well as
numerous family and friends that will miss him dearly; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Walter Leon Clark leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Walter Leon Clark, family man, distinguished citizen
and devoted member of his community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Walter Leon Clark.
