LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Ann S. Tyler upon the occasion of her
retirement after 48 years of distinguished service to the AmeriCU Credit
Union Board of Directors
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, For the past 48 years, Ann S. Tyler rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the AmeriCU Credit Union Board of
Directors; and
WHEREAS, In 1968, Ann S. Tyler joined the AmeriCU Board of Directors,
a position she held until her retirement in 2016; for 16 of those years,
she served as Chairman; and
WHEREAS, Under Ann S. Tyler's leadership, AmeriCU Credit Union has
grown to include over 110,000 members in nine counties, 18 financial
centers and $1.3 billion in assets; and
WHEREAS, This remarkable woman has helped lay a strong foundation for
this vital banking institution, ensuring it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling success it has enjoyed thus far; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Ann S. Tyler has assiduously worked to promote
the credit union movement nationally, attending conferences, advocating
to government leaders, and volunteering with local and national credit
union organizations; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to her Rome, New York, community, Ann S. Tyler
helped form the Rome Voluntary Action Center, and was the first woman to
serve as Chairperson for Rome United Way fundraiser events; she also
held the title of Vice President of the Rome Storeroom for the Needy and
has volunteered her time and energy to the American Heart Association,
Hospice and the Relay for Life; and
WHEREAS, For her steadfast and unremitting commitment to her communi-
ty, Ann S. Tyler has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades
including the Roses for the Living Award by the Rome Rotary Club, and on
February 24, 2016, AmeriCU Credit Union dedicated its Board Room at its
Headquarters on Black River Boulevard in Rome, to honor her for her
devoted service; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as Chairman, Ann S. Tyler served with loyal-
ty, honor and distinction; in her official acts, she was governed by a
keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems;
and
WHEREAS, During her tenure with the AmeriCU Credit Union Board of
Directors, Ann S. Tyler earned the admiration, esteem and affection of
her colleagues; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ann S. Tyler upon the occasion of her retirement after 48 years of
distinguished service; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ann S. Tyler.
