LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Tyler Muise upon the occasion of his
designation as the first recipient of the Tyler Muise MVP Award by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association on April 20, 2016
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
those individuals whose extraordinary spirit and determination are an
inspiration to others; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Tyler Muise
upon the occasion of his designation as the first recipient of the Tyler
Muise MVP Award, celebrated at the Orange County Interscholastic Athlet-
ic Association Senior Scholar-Athlete Award Luncheon on Wednesday, April
20, 2016; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award recognizes a student with special needs
who has positively impacted an athletic program at their school; Valley
Central High School's trophy case will hold a plaque passed on annually
to the school of the award recipient; and
WHEREAS, After the death of his mother, Tyler Muise's teacher, Carol
Fitts, spoke to Head Football Coach, Ron Introini and Assistant Coach,
Bob Leonard, and suggested that playing football might cheer Tyler up
and give him something to focus on; and
WHEREAS, After he was recruited to the Vikings, Tyler Muise immediate-
ly became a vital part of the team, serving as an inspiration to his
fellow members from the moment he stepped onto the field; and
WHEREAS, Known for his infectious enthusiasm and wide smile, Tyler
Muise loves football and proudly wears his Vikings team jersey to school
on game days; and
WHEREAS, Tyler Muise's one wish was to play football; at the game on
Senior Night in 2014, his dream became a reality; with the help of Wash-
ingtonville, the Vikings' opponent, Tyler jubilantly ran a 15-yard
touchdown up the middle of the field; and
WHEREAS, A role model for all, Tyler Muise is a dedicated athlete who
has brought honor to his family, his coaches, and his community of
friends who have encouraged his progress and commended his hard work;
and
WHEREAS, Tyler Muise's character and achievements stand as a sterling
example and inspiration to all who would aspire to such extraordinary
success; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such enduring courage and accomplishment are brought to our
attention, it is appropriate to publicly proclaim and commend those
individuals for the edification and emulation of others; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Tyler Muise upon the occasion of his designation as the first
recipient of the Tyler Muise MVP Award by the Orange County Interscho-
lastic Athletic Association on April 20, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Tyler Muise.
