LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Applied Business Systems, Inc. of
Batavia, New York, upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of
the 2014 Business of the Year Award by the Genesee County Chamber of
Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of business organ-
izations and individuals that generously contribute to the welfare of
the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Applied Business Systems, Inc. of Batavia, New York, upon the occa-
sion of its designation as recipient of the 2014 Business of the Year
Award by the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, Applied Business Systems, Inc. is receiving this auspicious
award for its continued growth and commitment to Genesee County; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1973 by entrepreneur Jim DiSalvo, Applied
Business Systems, Inc. ventured into a forms distribution business and
never stopped looking for opportunities to meet customers' needs; and
WHEREAS, The foundation for the company had been laid and now the
focus is on servicing new customers; Applied Business Systems, Inc.
purchased a small forms distributorship in Rochester which specialized
in forms to the healthcare industry; this foothold opened a new market-
ing area and continues to maintain a strong presence in the Rochester
market; and
WHEREAS, In 1984, Applied Business Systems, Inc. teamed up with Inde-
pendent Health, a fledgling HMO company in Buffalo; both companies have
experienced a synergistic growth as they responded to customer needs,
creating innovative and cost effective ways to reach their customers;
and
WHEREAS, In an effort to succeed in the competitive environment,
Applied Business Systems, Inc. partnered with Xerox to help perfect the
art of digital printing using the newest printing equipment, testing and
offering feedback to the manufacturer so they can fine tune the equip-
ment for other customers; and
WHEREAS, Applied Business Systems, Inc. prides itself on their service
of getting finished pieces to the customer at the lowest cost solution;
and
WHEREAS, Currently, Applied Business Systems, Inc. employs 37 full-
time employees and 19 part-time employees; the business also has several
family members serving in key management roles; and
WHEREAS, Applied Business Systems, Inc. continues to flourish as a
dependable, reliable workforce for businesses all over New York State;
its creative collaboration and solutions have assured the on time
completion and delivery of the pieces which have provided work to people
with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, Applied Business Systems, Inc. has always taken an active
role in the Genesee County community; Jim DiSalvo's annual holiday light
display has become a destination for many visitors who travel to the
western New York area; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional business and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Applied Business Systems, Inc. of Batavia, New York, upon

the occasion of its designation as recipient of the 2014 Business of the
Year Award by the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jim DiSalvo, Founder, Applied Business Systems, Inc.
