LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Barclay Damon, LLP upon the occasion of
being named a 2016 Champion for Children of the Capital Region by North-
ern Rivers

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Barclay Damon, LLP upon the occasion of being named a 2016 Champion for
Children of the Capital Region by Northern Rivers to be celebrated on
Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at the Hilton Garden Inn, Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, Barclay Damon, LLC was chosen to receive this auspicious
award in recognition of its contributions to children's health, safety
and wellness; and
WHEREAS, The 430 individuals who make up Barclay Damon, LLP truly
value the communities in which they live and work; in addition to
providing quality legal services to its clients, this vital organization
values and promotes diversity and inclusion, as well as service to those
in need; and
WHEREAS, The attorneys and staff of Barclay Damon, LLP strive to make
a difference in their profession and in their communities, contributing
to educational and charitable organizations across 11 offices; and
WHEREAS, Barclay Damon, LLP has established numerous effective
programs such as its Diversity and Inclusion Initiative, Women's Forum
program and Pro Bono program, providing much-needed legal services to
those who otherwise could not afford it; and
WHEREAS, Barclay Damon, LLP of Albany, New York, proudly supports
countless organizations some of which include, Northern Rivers, United
Way of the Greater Capital Region, Center for Disability Services, Inc.,
Equinox Thanksgiving Dinner, Catholic Charities, the Legal Project,
Legal Aid Society, and Prisoners' Legal Services of New York; and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history, Barclay Damon, LLP has demon-
strated continuous service to the residents and communities which it
serves; and
WHEREAS, The success of Barclay Damon, LLP is in direct correlation to
the efforts of its attorneys and staff, whose involvement is, and always
has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthu-
siasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on
behalf of the organization and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Barclay Damon, LLP upon the occasion of being named a 2016 Cham-
pion for Children of the Capital Region by Northern Rivers; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Barclay Damon, LLP.
