LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Mike Sindoni upon the occasion of
winning the 2016 Western New York Brain Bee on February 20, 2016

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commend and pay
tribute to those young people who, by achieving outstanding success in
educational competition, have inspired and brought pride to our majestic
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Mike Sindoni upon the occasion of winning the 2016 Western New York
Brain Bee on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Canisius College in
Buffalo, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Western New York Brain Bee is a neuroscience competition
for high school students which tests their knowledge of the human brain
in such areas as intelligence, emotions, memory, sleep, vision, hearing,
neurological disorders, addictions and brain research; and
WHEREAS, Mike Sindoni, a senior at Kenmore West High School, took
first place in the 2016 Western New York Brain Bee with an outstanding
performance in the second round when the questions were at their highest
difficulty; and
WHEREAS, With this victory, Mike Sindoni has earned a monetary prize
and become eligible to represent Western New York in the National Brain
Bee Competition in Baltimore, Maryland; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed young man has been ably coached by Kenmore West
science teacher Lisa Davidson, a skilled and inspirational tutor who has
helped to develop his potential into excellence; and
WHEREAS, Mike Sindoni, in achieving this high honor, may take just
pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excellence he
brings to his family, friends, school and region; and
WHEREAS, Educational competitions which serve to better prepare our
students for their future participation in the marketplace of ideas are
worthy of praise and support; and
WHEREAS, Poised with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this scholar
now stands honorably, in eager anticipation of future challenges, under-
standing and appreciating the caring counsel and support provided by his
teachers and parents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Mike Sindoni upon the occasion of winning the 2016 Western
New York Brain Bee on February 20, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mike Sindoni and Lisa Davidson.
