LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kenneth Cummings upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscho-
lastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Kenneth
Cummings upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by
the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Kenneth Cummings has distin-
guished himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and matu-
rity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposeful-
ness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Kenneth Cummings, a student at Valley Central High School in
Montgomery, New York, is ranked 18th in his class with a 96 GPA; he
participated in numerous sports including baseball and soccer, where he
served as team captain; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Kenneth Cummings participates in the Youth in
Government program; and
WHEREAS, A member of Gradus Honorus, English Honor Society, Math Honor
Society, Social Studies Honor Society, and Spanish Honor Society,
Kenneth Cummings plans to attend the State University of New York at
Albany and major in math and science; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community, Kenneth Cummings enjoys volun-
teering his time and energy at the Montgomery Food Bank; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Kenneth
Cummings has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Kenneth Cummings may stand with pride in his achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he contin-
ues his education; and
WHEREAS, Kenneth Cummings represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of
his future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kenneth Cummings upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish him well in his future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kenneth Cummings.
