LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring William Andrew Spanjer upon the occasion
of his designation for special recognition by the Orange County Inter-
scholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor William Andrew
Spanjer upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by
the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, William Andrew Spanjer has
distinguished himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years;
and
WHEREAS, William Andrew Spanjer, a student at Chapel Field Christian
School in Pine Bush, New York, is ranked 2nd in his class with a 95 GPA;
he participated in numerous sports including soccer and baseball, where
he served as team captains; and
WHEREAS, Well-liked by his peers, William Andrew Spanjer holds the
title of President of both his class and the student body; in addition,
he is a participant of the yearbook staff, works at the school store,
and sings in the Boys Ensemble Chorus; and
WHEREAS, A member of National Honor Society, the Math Team, and Youth
Conquest, William Andrew Spanjer plans to attend Liberty University and
major in graphic design; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community, William Andrew Spanjer enjoys
volunteering his time and energy at the local soup kitchen, the Dwaar-
kill Study Center and Life Chain; he also assists with Vacation Bible
School, a youth group, and is a member of the school grounds crew; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, William Andrew
Spanjer has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, William Andrew Spanjer may stand with pride in his achieve-
ments, experiencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he
continues his education; and
WHEREAS, William Andrew Spanjer represents the potential inherent in
our most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased
to honor this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of
his future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor William Andrew Spanjer upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Asso-
ciation as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish him well in his
future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to William Andrew Spanjer.
