LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Madeline Salino upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscho-
lastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Madeline Sali-
no upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Madeline Salino has distin-
guished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years;
and
WHEREAS, Madeline Salino, a student at Monroe-Woodbury High School in
Woodbury, New York, is ranked 1st in her class with a 100.1 GPA; she
participated in tennis, chamber orchestra, PENDRAGON, the Spectrum Club,
Math Team, and National French Honor Society; and
WHEREAS, Valedictorian of her class, Madeline Salino is also truly
dedicated to her community; she enjoys volunteering her time and energy
at the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum and Wilderness Restoration
Projects; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Madeline Salino
has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Madeline Salino may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and
WHEREAS, Madeline Salino represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Madeline Salino upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in her future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Madeline Salino.
