LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Mackenzie McClure upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscho-
lastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Mackenzie
McClure upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Mackenzie McClure has distin-
guished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years;
and
WHEREAS, Mackenzie McClure, a student at James I. O'Neill High School
in Highland Falls, New York, is ranked 10th in her class with a 97.92
GPA; she participated in volleyball, where she served as team co-cap-
tain; and
WHEREAS, A member of National Honor Society, the Student to Student
Ambassador program as well as a production stage manager, Mackenzie
McClure plans to attend Colorado State University and major in biomedi-
cal and mechanical engineering; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to her community, Mackenzie McClure enjoys volun-
teering her time and energy at her church; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Mackenzie
McClure has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Mackenzie McClure may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and
WHEREAS, Mackenzie McClure represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mackenzie McClure upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in her future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mackenzie McClure.
