LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kaitlin Rau upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic
Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Kaitlin Rau
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Kaitlin Rau has distinguished
herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and maturity,
establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposefulness of
life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Kaitlin Rau, a student at Livingston Manor Central School, is
ranked 4th in her class with a 97 GPA; she also participated in numerous
sports including soccer, basketball and softball; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed young woman is a member of the National Honor
Society, and was named a Time Warner Scholar Athlete; she also served as
a member of the Student Council and was Captain of her school's basket-
ball, soccer, and softball teams; and
WHEREAS, Kaitlin Rau has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; she has graciously volunteered her time as both
a youth basketball coach and an AYSO soccer referee, as well as with
Community Clean Up; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Kaitlin Rau has
brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Kaitlin Rau may stand with pride in her achievements, experi-
encing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she continues
her education at Misericordia University in its Doctor of Physical Ther-
apy program; and
WHEREAS, Kaitlin Rau represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kaitlin Rau upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in all her future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kaitlin Rau.
