LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Gregory Walter Scott upon the occasion
of his designation for special recognition by the Orange County Inter-
scholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Gregory Walter
Scott upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by
the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Gregory Walter Scott has
distinguished himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years;
and
WHEREAS, Gregory Walter Scott, a student at Livingston Manor School,
is ranked 7th in his class with a 94.63 GPA; he also participated in
such sports as basketball and baseball; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this esteemed young man is a member of the
National Honor Society; and
WHEREAS, Gregory Walter Scott has been called upon to contribute his
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of himself unstintingly; he has graciously volunteered his
time with both Community Clean-up and Birds of Prey; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Gregory Walter
Scott has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Gregory Walter Scott may stand with pride in his achieve-
ments, experiencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he
continues his education at SUNY Sullivan where he will major in Criminal
Justice; and
WHEREAS, Gregory Walter Scott represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of
his future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Gregory Walter Scott upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Asso-
ciation as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish him well in his
future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Gregory Walter Scott.
