LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Keyana Zollner upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic
Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Keyana Zollner
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Keyana Zollner has distin-
guished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years;
and
WHEREAS, Keyana Zollner, a student at Middletown High School in
Middletown, New York, ranked 8th in her class with a 97.1547 GPA; she
participated in numerous sports including cross country and track and
field, serving as Captain for both teams; and
WHEREAS, A member of National Honor Society, Middletown Athlete Care
Club, and the Academy of Information Technology, Keyana Zollner plans to
attend either the Rochester Institute of Technology, Stanford University
or Georgia Institute of Technology and major in computer science or
information technology; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to her community, Keyana Zollner volunteers her
time and energy working with Habitat for Humanity, and has assisted
victims of Hurricane Sandy; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Keyana Zollner
has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Keyana Zollner may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and
WHEREAS, Keyana Zollner represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Keyana Zollner upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in her future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Keyana Zollner.
