LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Trevor Flynn upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic
Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Trevor Flynn
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Trevor Flynn has distinguished
himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and maturity,
establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposefulness of
life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Trevor Flynn, a student at Port Jervis High School in Port
Jervis, New York, has earned a 96.20 GPA and is ranked first in his
class; he has earned the honor of being named Valedictorian and is a
member of National Honor Society; and
WHEREAS, Trevor Flynn has participated in football and indoor and
spring track, and has been active in his community serving as a child
mentor at Church Street Park, and volunteering at food pantries, Dinner
Along the Delaware and National Night Out Against Crime; and
WHEREAS, Following graduation, Trevor Flynn plans to attend Marywood
University in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to study Pre-Med in the Physician
Assistant Program; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Trevor Flynn
has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Trevor Flynn may stand with pride in his achievements, expe-
riencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he continues
his education; and
WHEREAS, Trevor Flynn represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Trevor Flynn upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish him well in his future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Trevor Flynn.
