LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Brittany Kinman upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic
Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Brittany
Kinman upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Brittany Kinman has distin-
guished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years;
and
WHEREAS, Brittany Kinman, a student at Port Jervis High School in Port
Jervis, New York, has earned a 96.13 GPA, and is ranked third in her
class; she is a member of National Honor Society and has participated in
numerous sports including soccer, indoor track, basketball and softball;
and
WHEREAS, Active in her community, Brittany Kinman has given of her
time and energy as a Camp Counselor and Little League Coach, as well as
a volunteer at the local food pantry and in kindergarten classrooms; and
WHEREAS, Brittany Kinman plans to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical
University and major in aerospace engineering with a minor in aeronau-
tical science; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Brittany Kinman
has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Brittany Kinman may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and
WHEREAS, Brittany Kinman represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Brittany Kinman upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in her future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Brittany Kinman.
