LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Cole Gill upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic
Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Cole Gill upon
the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-
Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Cole Gill has distinguished
himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and maturity,
establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposefulness of
life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Cole Gill, a student at S.S. Seward Institute, is ranked 13th
in his class with a 93.81 GPA; he also participated in numerous sports
including soccer, basketball and baseball; and
WHEREAS, A member of the National Honor Society, this esteemed young
man is a PTSO student representative and the Captain of both the soccer
and baseball teams; and
WHEREAS, Cole Gill has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of himself unstintingly; he has graciously given of his time as a Little
League Baseball Coach and student volunteer; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Cole Gill has
brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Cole Gill may stand with pride in his achievements, experi-
encing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he continues
his education; and
WHEREAS, Cole Gill represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Cole Gill upon the occasion of his designation for special recog-
nition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a
2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish him well in his future endeav-
ors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Cole Gill.
