LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Ryan Adams upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Charlie Wolff Memorial Award by the
Ken-Ton Friends of Youth Foundation on April 20, 2016

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and leaders
of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the ideals
and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Ryan
Adams upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Charlie
Wolff Memorial Award by the Ken-Ton Friends of Youth Foundation, cele-
brated at its 18th Annual Shining Stars Awards Dinner on Wednesday,
April 20, 2016, at the Buffalo Yacht Club, Buffalo, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Ken-Ton Friends of Youth Foundation is a not-for-profit
organization formed in 1997, to provide financial support for youth
programs and projects in the Town of Tonawanda and Village of Kenmore;
this vital Foundation collaborates with other community agencies,
schools, businesses, and service organizations, which share the common
vision of providing increased opportunities for youth; and
WHEREAS, The Charlie Wolff Memorial Award, sponsored by the Ken-Ton
Kiwanis, is given to a young person from the Ken-Ton area who will grad-
uate or acquire their GED by June of 2016, and who need assistance to
achieve; the grant gives financial assistance to individuals who are
continuing their education; and
WHEREAS, Recognizing the value of his labors and the promise of his
future, the Ken-Ton Friends of Youth Foundation is proud to bestow this
auspicious award upon Ryan Adams; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Kenmore West High School, Ryan Adams plans to
attend Canisius College and the State University of New York at Fredonia
for a degree in environmental conservation; and
WHEREAS, With his sense of civic duty and his commitment to others,
Ryan Adams represents the best development of the potential which is
inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this
scholar now stands honorably, with just pride in his accomplishments and
in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appreciat-
ing the caring counsel and support provided by his teachers and parents;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ryan Adams upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Charlie Wolff Memorial Award by the Ken-Ton Friends of Youth Founda-
tion on April 20, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ryan Adams.
