LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Charlie Pace upon the occasion of his
induction into the New York State Outdoorsmen Hall of Fame Class of 2016

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Charlie Pace
upon the occasion of his induction into the New York State Outdoorsmen
Hall of Fame Class of 2016; and
WHEREAS, The New York State Outdoorsmen Hall of Fame is a non-profit
organization dedicated to honoring those individuals who have made
significant contributions to environmental conservation and the enhance-
ment of outdoor sports for future generations; and
WHEREAS, Charlie Pace of Cazenovia, New York, has devoted himself to
providing increased access to outdoor sports opportunities to the commu-
nity and is undoubtedly deserving of being inducted into this presti-
gious organization; and
WHEREAS, A key member of such important outdoors organizations as the
Fish and Wildlife Management Board and the Conservation Fund Advisory
Board, Charlie Pace has worked tirelessly to gain access for sportsmen
and oversee proper use of conservation funds; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, this esteemed sportsman and conservationist
has been responsible for numerous important agreements including the
granting of trailer boat access to Cazenovia Lake for anglers and the
development of the McNitt property into a state park; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to helping others, Charlie Pace has helped raise
significant funds to aid handicapped sportsmen and helped many of them
realize their own dream hunts and fishing trips as a founder and officer
of Sportsmen Helping Others Through Sharing (SHOTS); and
WHEREAS, In addition, Charlie Pace has worked with SHOTS to assist
youngsters involved in hunting and fishing through such programs as
creating and keeping box turkey calls, drawings for lifetime licenses
and Future Anglers Outreach; he has also led efforts to fund the
National Archery in Schools Program and helped send state archery
winners to the National Competition in Kentucky; and
WHEREAS, The recipient of numerous awards and honors for his outstand-
ing service, Charlie Pace was named the 2008 Central New York Sportsman
of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Charlie Pace has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon all citizens to recognize and applaud
the efforts of individuals such as Charlie Pace who have committed them-
selves to enhancing opportunities for others to enjoy outdoor sports for
the benefit of present and future generations of New Yorkers; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Charlie Pace upon the occasion of his induction into the New York
State Outdoorsmen Hall of Fame Class of 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Charlie Pace.
